June 2, 2025 — Berlin, Germany – Champion of Champions Tour (CCT) announces Season 2 of its Dota 2 circuit, now expanding into the South American region. Returning as the stepping stone for professional teams into the competitive Dota 2 scene, the upcoming season will feature 12 events across two regions, a prize pool of $400K, and a new tournament format tailored to streamline competition and raise the stakes for each match from the Group Stage to the Playoffs.
Building on the success of the previous season, CCT DOTA Season 2 will kick off on June 9, 2025, with Series 1, and run through April 2026.
“CCT DOTA was built with a clear mission: To give structure and opportunities to teams and talent determined to level up to the global stage. And with every season, we’re committed to delivering on this goal. We’ve seen rising stars break through, passionate communities rally behind underdogs, and storylines created that otherwise would have gone unnoticed”, said Fabian Logemann, Head of Tournament Operations at GRID. ‘“For Season 2, we’ve listened to community feedback, coming back with a tighter format in EU and opening the doors to South America – we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead!”
Global Scope, Local Depth
Season 2 will consist of:
- 8 Events in Europe ($40,000 prize pool each)
- 4 Events in South America ($20,000 prize pool each)
The new South America region will aim to establish a solid foundation for Dota 2 tournaments in the heart of the South American continent. With focus on the passionate Peruvian Dota 2 scene and surrounding countries the circuit aims to unite the best teams in the region in a fierce competition across several events starting in October of 2025.
“Better Group Stage, Higher Stakes”
Improving the new season, CCT introduces the GSL format to its Group Stage, replacing the previously utilized Round Robin format. In the second season of the circuit, impactful matches will start from the very start of the competition. The tried and tested GSL format will accelerate the Group Stage and will provide a clear and fair way for teams to qualify into the Playoffs.
The Group Stage will consist of two groups with four teams each where Top 2 from each group advances to the Playoff stage. The 4 teams qualified from the Group Stage will join 4 teams directly invited to the Playoffs into a Double-Elimination Tournament Bracket which will culminate in a Bo5 final.
Prize Pool Europe:

- 2nd place – $8,000
